Root file system - Read-only?

Hi,

We are using the BSP v1.2.0 package and building the image. When we build our own image or use the original image and boot the board, we find that by default that the root file system (both squashfs or axfs) are getting mounted READ ONLY? Any specific reasons for this?  How do we get to change this to READ WRITE?
