Hello,
We are designing the new board based on Renesas Starter kit RZG1M, however there are few issues needs to be addressed for software/driver compatibility when we go for new design referencing the RZG1M RSK due to part availability, RSK support availability and obsolete parts in RSK. Request your suggestion.
The RZG1M part number used in the G1M Starter Kit is R8A77430HA01BG#Yxx (as per Starter kit Bill of Material), this part is not recommended for new design and not available in Renesas website. Currently the part number shown for RZG1M in Renesas website is R8A77430HA02BG#UA. We couldnt get the details of difference between these two parts, Is these two parts form, fit, functional, pin to pin equivalent? We have following queries
1. Currently i couldn't see the RZG1M RSK board details in Renesas website, now the G1M is showing only iWave Q7 boards. Is the support for Renesas RZG1M Starter kit (RSK) will be continued or discontinued?
2. Is the RZG1M part continue to be available for next 5 to 10 years? Do you recommend to use rzg1m part R8A77430HA02BG#UA or rzg2m? For our application RZG1M is good enough.
3. Do we need to modify anything in yocto2 /bsp for the device which is currently available R8A77430HA02BG#UA, if so can you please send us the details.
4. Audio code used in RSK AK4642EN which is obsolete now. Do you recommend any other codec which is software/driver compatible. Or Did we test any other audio code with G1M which can be used?
5. RSK board has both 512MBit QSPI (U16, default option) and 32MBit QPI, JP2 Jumper selects either of one. Currently 32MBit SPI is obsolete. For current linux booting, is 512MB used? Is 512MBit used only for booting or any other purposes? What is the purpose of 32MBit SQPI memory? Can we complete eliminate 32Mbit QSPI from design? or do we need it for any critical purposes?
Regards
